Quiet Christmas

Hello there friends. I'm kind of late in updating here but some rundown for what happened in the past weeks/days.
  • Spent the holidays with the family, both in Manila and Marikina
  • Had a photo op with my sister and our kids. 
  • Went to a military camp in Tarlac to visit my newly enlisted brother-in-law
We didn't get to do much this year. A few years ago, we celebrated Christmas in Tagaytay but this year is a bit quiet for my taste. I would have wanted some real vacation time for the holidays. And we didn't get to see my brother and his family. They decided to stay in Singapore for the holidays, hopefully we'll get to see them next year. Hmnn, something to look forward to, visiting them in Singapore. Hopefully after paying our car loan that ends in September. Yay! Can't wait for that particular loan to finish. I can imagine what other things we can do with the money. More savings and vacation budget. Yes, definitely!

Also let me share hubby's gift to me this year. 

My hometown tumbler! I'm a Manila City girl and it will always be my home. I know Marikina is a part of the Metro Manila but it's still different, especially if you spend all your life in downtown Manila. Plus it's kind of difficult exploring Marikina because our location is more accessible coming from Quezon City. Regardless of that, I'm actually looking forward to visiting the tiangge in River Park.

On that note, two more days and we will say good bye to 2010 and welcome 2011 with open arms (and hopefully with no injuries.)

Hello there online friends! How are you holding up this fine season of December? Five more days to go and it's Christmas. Not only that, 11 more days before we say goodbye to 2010 and welcome 2011 with an open heart and hopeful promises of a bright future.

For now, here are the holidays proclaimed for next year as mentioned in the Proclamation No. 84 by the President of the Philippines.

A. Regular Holidays

     New Year’s Day – January 1 (Saturday)
     Araw ng Kagitingan – April 9 (Saturday)
     Maundy Thursday – April 21
     Good Friday – April 22
     Labor Day – May 1 (Sunday)

Looking forward to a summer vacation by the beach next year. I'm starting to fill up our change jar, hopefully it will be enough come April.

Goodbye memories

My laptop crashed. Or more likely my hard drive did. I've been wary of my laptop's condition for some time now. It's been awfully noisy and prompts me all the time that I have low disk space. It's been warning me but I didn't listen. Until it crashed one day and I lost everything. Everything. Thousands of original (and only) copies of digital photographs of Offspring since birth, years worth of documents, mp3s, movies and scanned images.  I know we should have upgraded into 500gb hard drive years ago but we neglected to do so. Now it's gone and there's nothing we can do to retrieve those files.

There’s just so much cheating seen when selling your house way above its value. Assess the condition of the house and consider its location, the demand and market movement. Compare with other sellers, as well. By doing so, you will not go wrong with the price tag. 

Buyers will not hesitate in paying Cash for Homes if they see it’s all worth the dime. So before calling the price and placing the tag, get your house ready and plan your price fairly.
