Learning Flute

No comments:
Learning how to play a musical instrument gives back something to soothe one's inner self. Maybe it's not the learning but the playing when you already know how to, but how are you going to reach that status if you do not start to learn at all? There are numerous musical instruments to choose from. While the most common is the guitar, others are equally satisfying as long as you enjoy playing any of them.

The flute is one of the instruments that can be played alone or with a backup orchestra, if you wish. The sound of a flute has a mesmerizing sound. A good composition for the flute will either lull you to sleep or wake you up in amazement. Just try to listen to Flight Of The Bumblebee rendered on flute via Youtube. With such piece so amazingly played normally on piano, having it played on flute makes it more amazing since you not just press the right holes but you also exert extra effort in blowing the right amount of air at the right time with the right mouth formation.

While most of the music pieces are classical in nature, it does not stop you to play pop tunes of your choice. Greensleeves may not be classical but it has attained its classic status some years ago. The lead tune of the flute is really hypnotic. If you want to adapt a tribal flavor, try Waka Waka! First, buy your Gemeinhardt flute so you can wake up to your dream.

Summer music

1 comment:
A bit early for Music Monday? Maybe so. But with the kind of heat we're currently experiencing, music and e-books are my usual companion, those two and lots of cold water. This song by Corrine Bailey Rae is one of my favorite song to listen to during the summer and I love the video. Makes me want to think of going back home to provinces and telling you that life is easy. Unfortunately, we don't have a province and home has always been the city.

What's your favorite summer music?

Free music in Yahoo! Music

3 comments:
I seldom get to listen to the radio anymore but we do listen to our favorite station on road trips or via streaming online. Sometimes I'm in a mood for some nostalgic music and I seldom get to listen 90s music anymore unless it is requested on the radio or we play it from our mp3 collection. And with the number of times we move the files from the shop's server to the laptop then to the portable hard disk drive, we get confused where we transferred them all. Well, I get confused because I don't want DK or anyone for that matter touching my things. It disturbs my mental map and get lost with my own clutter. Plus I hate DK's filing system. Imagine opening a folder with sub-folders named New Folder to the nth power. Crazy right? I mean, is it so hard to type a few words to differentiate those folders?

Point being, I get stressed just looking for said songs. There are times I would bug DK to access the laptop remotely from his office just to find it for me but most of the time I have to just suck it up and do the searching on my own. By the time I see those files, I was no longer in the mood for listening to the music I was looking for in the first place and just focus on renaming and arranging the sub-folders he made.

Thankfully, he did his unromantic way of pleasing me and introduced me to Yahoo! Music. Not only do I get to listen to the kind of music I am in the mood for on certain times but there is also an option to listen to kids music for Una, especially the Lullaby music. I especially love the non-English lullabies.Ah, I love free music.

Do you have Yahoo! Music installed in your YM?

Have you seen the Eclipse trailer? I can't wait for that one!

This is my first time joining Mommy Moments and this week's theme is Song From a Mom's Heart. This was the song Daddy K and I chose for Una while she's still in my tummy, it's called Ultrasound by the local band Sandwich. This pretty much said what state we are in during the pregnancy.

TikTokRok Climate Action

Tik Tok Pilipinas' Climate Action in Marikina Riverbanks was fun. Together with Daddy K, BIL #1 and Una went there to watch bands play, have a souvenir in their photo booth and just be there and enjoy the night. It's nice to listen to musicians share their thoughts on how they try and make the environment cleaner. It always starts within ourselves. But despite the efforts of hosts and artists reminding them to take care of their own trash, there were still a lot of empty food containers and plastic cups everywhere. If only we can implement to not use styrofoams in take outs, it would make a huge difference.

Tik Tok Pilipinas Photo Booth, only Php 20.

There was a wall climbing activity in the area. I've been dying to try that one for years but Daddy K can't join because no one would carry Una while we're up there, maybe next time.

Up Dharma Down were playing when we arrived there. Also learned that Armi, the vocalist lived in Marikina and was also affected by Ondoy.

Weather We Like It or Not

No comments:
We really have to make a move and make a change. Let's not wait for another Ondoy or Pepeng to terrorize our lives. Next time we won't be able to evacuate. Next time we won't be able to survive. Let's not wait for a next time to fight against climate change. We need not only make a difference in our everyday lives. Now we have to stand up and speak up. Let our voices be heard and join the Climate Action on December 12, 2009 from 3 pm to 3 am in Marikina Riverbanks.
