Project I Will #6

Are you like me who prefers to send text messages than make a phone call?

Honestly, I seldom use my phone now. Being online all the time, I find it useful to just message my friends in YM, tweet them in Twitter, chat in Facebook or send them an email. I only text them if they're not available on line. I used to be have unlimited texts applied to my phone but having wi-fi in the house (and even outside,) the additional load credits is no longer appealing to me. And even if my friends sent me text messages, I will definitely use an online service to send reply to your text. Yes, I am very dependent on my internet connection that's why I chose to have a wi-fi enabled phone, I even tried using it inside the bathroom and it still works! But as I've said I seldom use my phone now because I'm always in front of the laptop so why use the small screen of my phone.

For last week's Project I Will (sorry for the super late post,) I will use my phone to call instead of text. On special occasions and certain circumstances. I know I'm supposed to do what the supposedly New Year resolution said but I know I won't be able to do that often so I'm sticking to the more realistic resolution. Special occasions include birthdays, holidays, congratulations and such and certain circumstances are for emergency situations which I already do anyway. And maybe a little hello via phone call to some friends who I miss dearly and is afraid of being online.

How about you, do you prefer sending text messages or making a phone call?

In my previous Project I Will post, I committed to start saving money with a piggy bank. Honestly, it's a jar but I'm sure you know what I mean. While we are on the not-so-piggy piggy bank topic, I'd like to share with you a conversation I had with Daddy K's cousin. As you all know, I love browsing the net in search for some cute fun stuff that are useful (or maybe even not really useful) in our everyday life. She entered the room while I was looking at a cute battery operated Itazura coin bank (see video below.)

It's so cute and so adorable so I told her to watch it too. She asked me where to get it and I said she have to buy it online. And with an incredulous voice, she said that there is no point in having that coin back in the first place if you're going to have to pay for it. She said that the money that you will save in that coin bank is not even enough to pay the said coin bank. All that coming from a 10 year old girl, smart no?

Of course, I have no plans of buying that and explained that I just love watching it because of it's cuteness. That's also the reason why I'm using a jar for our coin bank, an old mayonnaise jar if you want me to be specific.

With that said, let's go back to our topic/resolution for the week. Last year, I took a plunge into money making schemes online. I started it with monetizing my blog and joining some paid to click programs. So far, I already earned $ 19 just for this month. I say that's a lot for a start. The earnings I received only motivates me to strive harder. I planned to not touch my earnings online (except on extreme emergencies,) let's see how much I'll have in total by the end of the year.

How about you? Any recommended money making schemes that would word for stay at home moms like me?

Saving is really one of the things I want to focus on this year. Daddy K and I used to have our changes saved on a piggy bank when we were still dating so we can have one extravagant date in a year. We still save on a piggy bank but we usually use it for emergency purposes.

Recently, I've been reading a lot of interesting research paper topics. The catching titles motivates me to read further on the article and what I learned from it didn't disappoint. One article that really caught my attention is how being a frugal mom can really help the family finances. It showed me that there is still a lot more that I can do in saving more money.

I will explore about what I learn from those articles as I go on. doing them myself. But for now, let's all enjoy our Sunday with the family.

Have a good day!

I know, this is supposed to be posted yesterday but I was so dead tired that I have to put off doing nothing but rest to regain my health. Yeah so much for being productive.

It seems that Una transferred her colds to me, I don't mind since I prefer getting sick that her suffering from her colds but the stress from preparing her birthday celebration only added to degrade my health condition and I've been worse than her. So I'll stop my blabbing now and rest some more. Hopefully, I'll get back to my healthy self soon and be really productive.

Have a great weekday everyone!

A new year usually comes with a New Year's resolution -- and with that comes change. Change is good, but people is also afraid of it. Too much risk and so many things to learn. But why do we make a list of things we want to change in our lives but so afraid of changing life anyway?

Change's great enemy is routine. Once people get used to the things they do, even if they don't like, they still stick to it. That's why people always wait for the new year to make a change in their life, to avoid disturbance in their usual routine. That is also one reason why people like me fail in achieving my New Year's resolution. But why wait that long for a change when we can start it now?

Since I am posting this on the first month of the year, I will make this a not-really New Year's resolution. Instead of changing something major with my life, I will start with the small mundane things that we usually neglect.

Project I Will #02

Easy, right? With our busy lives, we tend to forget to enjoy the simple things in life. We always focus on the big thing that we forget that it's also important to stop for a while a savor the moment. Doing this doesn't have to last for only a week, we can do this everyday in our lives, starting now.

This post's inspiration is from a link shared by WifelySteps in her Plurk account. It's a website where you can make your new year's resolution if you can't think of any. But in my case, I'd like to make it a weekly resolution. Like a Project 365 with photography but I would like to call this Project I Will and will be made weekly.

But since I found out about the site this week, I will consider the first entry I received from the site as the first week entry. Since the New Year falls on a Friday, I will start posting new entries in Project I Will on Fridays.

I will end this blog post by doing my first week's resolution.
